Since its inception in 2010, the IEC Young Professionals (YP) Programme has welcomed over 750 participants from around the world. Carefully selected by IEC National Committees, these emerging leaders partake in an annual workshop held in conjunction with the General Meeting, offering them unique insights and hands-on experience into the IEC’s work and the critical role of global participation to standardization.
Participants are encouraged to engage in standardization and conformity assessment efforts at both international and national levels, as the field of standardization continues to have widespread impact on industrial practices and innovative endeavors. The workshop provides an immersive experience to the activities of the IEC, allowing for the participants to gain further insights in standardization procedures and the value of standards in general.

As part of the workshop, the participants also have the privilege of becoming part of the Young Professionals community, which aims to shape the future by attracting the next generation of experts.
BEC is happy to announce that Siemen Maes, Product Lifecycle Manager at Enovates, and Vito Garzone, Product Marketing Engineer at Vishay, have been accepted as 2025 IEC Young Professionals. Both experts will be attending the full 2025 IEC YP Programme, which takes place from the 15th to the 19th September 2025 in New Delhi, India. Stay tuned for future newsletters, where will share updates on their experiences with the YP Programme.
