Two Belgian IEC Young Professionals Selected for 2026

21.10.2026

Since its launch in 2010, the IEC Young Professionals (YP) Programme has brought together more than 750 emerging experts from across the globe, helping to shape the next generation of leaders in international standardization.

Selected by their respective IEC National Committees, participants take part in an annual workshop held alongside the IEC General Meeting. The programme offers a unique opportunity to gain first-hand insight into the IEC’s work, explore the importance of international standardization, and understand how global collaboration contributes to innovation and industrial development.

Beyond the workshop itself, participants become part of an international Young Professionals community, encouraging them to engage in standardization and conformity assessment activities at both national and international levels.

Meet Belgium’s Young Professionals for 2026

BEC is pleased to announce that Echo Liu, Environment Research Officer at Daikin Europe, and Simon Ravyts, Assistant Professor at KU Leuven, have been selected to participate in the 2026 IEC Young Professionals Programme.

Both will attend the full programme, taking place from 16 to 20 November 2026 in Hamburg, Germany. During this experience, they will have the opportunity to deepen their understanding of international standardization, exchange ideas with peers from around the world, and explore how they can contribute to the future of the IEC.

We congratulate Echo and Simon on their selection and look forward to sharing their experiences and key takeaways from the programme in our upcoming newsletters.
