3 Belgian Experts Honored with IEC 1906 Award for 2024

The BEC is delighted to announce that three Belgian experts have been selected to receive the IEC 1906 Award for 2024. The award will be presented at the upcoming NBN Thank You Event on November 28, 2024.

This year’s recipients are:

  • Bachir Bella, Director of Sustainability and Product Safety at Copeland, and a valued member of Technical Committee 61.
  • Didier Liémans, Responsible Engineering - R&D at Nexans Benelux and a dedicated member of Technical Committee 20.
  • Pierre-André Monfils, former Senior Expert at General Electric and an active participant in Technical Committee 38.

The IEC 1906 Award was established to commemorate the founding of the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) and to recognize technical experts whose contributions are crucial to the IEC’s mission. The award honors those whose recent work has significantly advanced a specific project within their field.

Each awardee is nominated by the leaders of their respective technical committees, with input from the subcommittee leaders, ensuring that the award is based on peer recognition and acknowledges exceptional contributions to the development of IEC standards.

Congratulations to Bachir Bella, Didier Liémans, and Pierre-André Monfils for their remarkable contributions to the field.
