Francesco Giacomo Puricelli Appointed as New Chairman of BEC TC 115

The BEC is pleased to announce the appointment of Francesco Giacomo Puricelli as the new Chairman of the BEC TC 115, the committee responsible for High Voltage Direct Current (HVDC) transmission for DC voltages above 100 kV.

A Strong Academic and Research Background

Francesco Giacomo Puricelli received his MSc in Electrical Engineering from the Politecnico di Milano (Italy) in 2019 and recently obtained his PhD in Electrical Engineering from KU Leuven in 2025. He currently serves as a postdoctoral researcher at KU Leuven in Leuven and EnergyVille in Genk, Belgium.

His research interests include power system stability, converter-related interactions, HVDC connections, and grid-forming control strategies.
