On 10/03/2025 the BEC welcomed the 2 Belgian representatives in the CoS
The Committee on Standards is an EC consultation committee founded by the EU 1025/2012 regulation. Each Member State has one representative that can be accompanied by an expert.
The CoS meets twice a year. For 2025 meetings are planned on 14 May and 18 November. The agenda is published shortly before the meeting.
Each meeting contains 2 sections:
- Political aspect (European standardization): Standardization strategy, HLF, Malamud case, international standardization activities
- Future standardization requests
The FPS Economy undertakes an internal consultation to determine the Belgian position.
For written votes on standardisation requests, the FPS Economy undertakes an internal consultation with the competent authority and the Belgian standardisation organisations (NBN, BEC).
The BEC thanks the Belgian representatives in the CoS for their open discussion and aims to improve the communication with these persons so that the industrial point of view is better represented.
