You are kindly invited to the “The role of standards in the public procurement process including legal aspects” given by prof. Panos Delimatsis (University of Tilburg) on 15 October 2024 from 10h00 - 11h30.

The aim of the training is to understand the legal value and use of standards in the procurement processes. The targeted audience are purchasers or legal.

Panos Delimatsis will discuss the role of standards in public tendering. What is the difference between referenced/harmonized and non-referenced standards and the repercussions of this distinction. An overview will be given of how standards are referenced in the procurement process (both pre-award and post-award) and the role of standards in the current EU procurement framework (Directives 2014/24 and 2014/25).

The role of conformity assessment bodies and the use of labels referencing standards will be discussed.

Cases will discuss European Technical Assessments and the Construction Products Regulation, ICT technical specifications in ICT procurement and EU law relating to standards used in procurement.
