BEC Strengthens Its Role in International Standardization for Vehicle Charging
BEC is reinforcing its involvement in international standardization efforts related to electric vehicle charging systems.
Prof. Dr. Peter Van den Bossche, long-time Chairman of BEC TC 69, currently serves as Secretary of CENELEC TC 69X. To further enhance Belgium’s presence within CENELEC and improve operational efficiency, BEC TC 69 has nominated Siemen Maes from Enovates for the role of Assistant Secretary of CENELEC TC 69X. This proposal was formally approved by the CENELEC secretariat during its meeting on 14 May, held at the Vrije Universiteit Brussel (VUB).

In addition to his CENELEC responsibilities, Prof. Van den Bossche also serves as Secretary of IEC TC 69, the international committee within the IEC. To further increase Belgian participation at the IEC level, the BEC secretariat, in collaboration with the VUB, is preparing to appoint an additional delegate from VUB to act as Assistant Secretary of IEC TC 69.
