24.02.2026
The BEC is pleased to invite program directors, Deans, lecturers, teaching staff, and PhD students to a full-day workshop “Bringing Standards to Universities: Integrating Standards, Compliance, and Market Reality into the Engineering Curriculum” on Thursday, 28 May 2026, from 09:00 to 16:25 at the CENELEC Offices.
This workshop aims to address the underexposure of standardisation in higher education and research. By highlighting how standards drive economic growth and innovation, participants will explore ways to embed standardisation into engineering curricula and research projects.
The day is structured in two blocks:
- Policy & Institutional Insights: Speakers from the European Commission, CEN-CENELEC, and UNECE will discuss funding, legislation, and best practices for integrating standards into university programs.
- Industry & Academia Perspectives: Leading companies (Legrand, IBA, Siemens) and universities will share real-world examples of standards in practice, curriculum integration, and project-based learning.
Why attend?
- Equip students with essential compliance and market-readiness skills.
- Discover ready-to-use teaching modules and guest lecture opportunities.
- Gain access to standards documents for educational purposes.
- Network with academic, industry, and institutional experts bridging theory and practice.
